Wicked Fun Outrigger Race 2023
On Saturday, October 28, 2023, O Kalani is presenting the Wicked Fun Outrigger Race! This spooky event will feature OC1/OC2/V1 and surfski short and long courses just off of Alameda Island. Wear a Halloween costume for extra cool points – and get extra, extra points for racing in one! Hang out after the races with tacos and Faction beer in O Kalani’s yard! Tacos are included with your race entry if you register by Saturday, October 21, 11:59 PM. After that, tacos are not guaranteed.
🎃 Event Schedule
- 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM Check-in open in O Kalani’s yard
- 9:00 AM Race Meeting in O Kalani’s yard
- 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Short Course (~4 miles)
- 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM Long Course (~9 miles)
- 12:30 PM and onwards – Chill in O Kalani’s yard with tacos and $5 Faction Beer.

- Watercraft: OC-1, V-1 (rudderless), OC-2 (M, F, coed, parent/child), Surfski.
- Age divisions
- Short Course: Junior (19 & Under) & Adult (20+)
- Long Course: Open (under 50), Master 50+
- Costume Contest & Award Recognition Photo Op in O Kalani’s yard after the races (no physical race awards). CASH Prizes for best costumes!
🕷 Safety
A leash and PFD are mandatory to participate (Type II inflatable PFD is acceptable).
You must be able to remount your canoe in the event of a huli.
Light safety boat support to be provided.
🍬 Registration and Courses
We are using Webscorer for event registration, race timing, and results. Entry is $30 per single craft and $60 for OC2. Juniors (19 & under) are free!
