About O Kalani

O Kalani Outrigger Canoe Center is a member of the Northern California Outrigger Canoe Association (NCOCA), which in turn is a member of the International Va'a Federation. Our goal is to encourage, maintain and perpetuate outrigger canoe racing.

O Kalani Outrigger Canoe Center provides recreational and competitive paddling experiences for people of all ages living in Oakland/Alameda and other East Bay communities. Founded in Alameda in 1980, club participates in the summer sprint race season and a number of long distance races throughout Northern California. O Kalani also fields crews which participate in nationally competitive long distance races on the U.S. Canada Mainland and in Hawaii. We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area at the Encinal Boat Ramp in Alameda, CA.

O Kalani Outrigger Canoe Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization, which supports itself through modest membership dues, tax deductible contributions from individuals and fund raising activities in the community.
